Hello,
Its 6pm in US east coast, I'm noticing a lot of freezing, lagging, channel guide takes a while to load 20+ secs.
I have a mag 254 and a 50mbps internet connection.
Anybody else having these issues?
Thanks

I just checked some channels and everything is loading pretty quick here but I'm using Kodi. No freezing or lags, I know there was an issue with the Mags recently with the guide lagging, not sure if that's been corrected yet

It seems to be fine now, but i had to reboot the box. would you recommend the mag or the kodi?

I have been watching the USA channels and they aren't buffering here and I'm not seeing a lot of posts that they are so again check this out:
Read about buffering as it can actually be on Your End and not the server, there are many users that have no buffering and if that's the case then.....
Here is a c/p from another site that explains the buffering situation.. As some of us are not experiencing the issue all the time:
What you have described is very typical of ISP capacity problems. This has been a major problem in my area where the ISP's lack either the total available bandwidth to cover its commitment or they lack the infrastructure to distribute bandwidth at full capacity. I've had people paying for 30mbps that at peak times would get less then 1mbps.
If you can prove your ISP is incapable of providing an acceptable service through logging speed tests over time you should report it to your local authority that is responsible for the regulation of ISP's. Then you should report to your ISP that you have reported them to the authority
That is xx mbps from your ISP to you but what happens between your ISP and the server? That is probably where the freezing comes from. Do a tracert and you will see where the freezing is from

Weird I'm not getting any buffering at all. Maybe it has something to do with our locations and Internet providers. I have had just a couple of freezes in the past 6hrs

yes...
but how can channels be perfect for me on this service (sky actually), and others (in 480 too, so same speed) don't.
Not from my end.

UPDATE:
I change the usb wifi adapter to an ethernet cable connected to a repeater, what a huge difference that made, no more freezing, lagging, guide not loading, settings getting stuck, no more having to reboot 10 times a day. Everything is working perfect.
That's the best way to go straight cat 6 or 5e the wifi adapter are so so glad you found a fix enjoy.

Try changing your DNS on your router to the OPENDNS one
