Fire TV + Kodi = 720p only

Hi all,

I set up Fire TV 2 yesterday and can't get 1080p. Video links that said 1080p is converted to 720p by Fire TV. I only tested this with Kodi add-ons.

I am using an old HDMI cable, could that be the issue?

It may be, I know I had an HDMI cable and the video would work on one TV but then not on another like it could not detect the video resolution. Once I changed the cable it started working fine. My TV is reporting 1080p from the Fire TV 2 input and my 1080 content from my library looks awesome.
