I found this re the fact that when new , they are shipped set for SD , here is how to alter it .

A very important tip regarding image quality on MAG2XX, they come with video output configured to SD by default and to get the best image quality you should adjust those settings to meet your TV capabilities. Here are the instructions to change video output:
System Settings -> Video:
For Full HD TVs (1080p) or higher:
Video Output Mode: 1080p-60
Graphic Resolution: 1920×1080
For HD Ready TVs:
Video Output Mode: 720p-60
Graphic Resolution: 1280×720
If you don’t have a HD TV then leave the default settings.
This settings will give you a better image quality and a more stability.

Hello,

I have bought (last week) a mag 256. when i go to the inner portal i can choose these settings: Video Output Mode: 1080p-60 and Graphic Resolution: 1920×1080. When I've choose these settings, the box will reboot. after rebooting the box starts the IPTV Stalker to watch channels. But, by rebooting the settings of the graph. resolution are always switching to 1280x720. When i want to change/switch the grahical resolution in the menu (not inner portal) i dont have an option of 1920x1080 but only Same as video, 720x?? and 1280x720. I have a sony 55x8508c (4k tv) and want to watch 1080p with 1920x1280 resolution. do you know why?
