How is the EPG Updater working with 15.2?

Hello, just wondering if anyone is having issues using the EPG updater on Kodi 15.2?
My settings look correct and the epg_xmltv.xml file did download and update but my kodi isn't reading it, my guide is blank.
Tried the direct Remote URL location also but didn't work either

I'll move this to the right epg forum. It could be an issue with the the updater, and you may have to send a log of it to psycon.

If you try to link directly to the file, you'd need to switch to Local Path instead of Remote URL I would think.

Ok, I tried that but then I get a Stalker Client startup failed - connection lost error. Weird

Did you navigate to the file to establish the path or did you just type the path?

I enabled Hidden files in Kodi and navigated to the the file and was getting the error.

I've gone back to Provider XMLTV for now.

The Guide is loading except doesn't show the program description in the Channels section so I wanted to try this new way to see if the Guide would populate in the Guide section and the Channel sections.

Can you verify that you have cleared data, and on startup, you are seeing that the updater did start as evidenced by seeing a on-screen notification from it? Also, before starting Kodi, it might be best to delete that file first, and let the updater try to install a new one, vs. overwrite.

Unfortunately, I can't replicate the issue as I don't want to fall back to 15.2 again.

Do you want me to only clear the Guide data or the TV channel Data as well?
I did see the EPG Updater on-screen notification come up when I launched Kodi, so the Service is working.

When you do a data clear, both get cleared. Do both if you don't believe me. It just starts the connection fresh. Just make sure you manually remove the .xmltv BEFORE you start Kodi, and let the updater load a fresh version.

you get that connection lost error after you change from remote url to local path and choose the path... restarting kodi and clearing both guide and tv data and that error should go away

Exact same problem here on same setup but without doing the restarts.
Think it's a problem their end.

Ok, did that.

Yes the file came back but guide is same as before.

Opened kodi told me stalker epg error using epg ninja.

My guide loaded perfectly this morning…all channels this time.

However the -1 hour offset doesn't seem to be taking effect, despite that setting being enabled by me in the epg updater config panel.

(I cleared data twice and restarted Kodi before reporting this.)

did you delete the xmltv_epg.xml
its probably loading the cache file and not updating from server after you change the setting.

I did but don't see epg_xmltv.xml. Have cache.xml and settings.xml.

then you dont have the epg updater installed.
did you install the repo?
after that goto addons/install from repositor/.epg ninga addons/services and install it

Just out of interest, what is the version of the latest epg updater, is it 1.0.5? I have the epg updater installed on three devices, all on version 1.0.4 initially. One of the devices updated the epg updater to 1.0.5 and the the other two haven't. I then started to get an epg updater error on start up with version 1.0.5 and had to resolve it by uninstalling the addon and reinstalling version 1.0.4 from the repo again. Could the issue be that I'm using kodi 15.2 and the epg updater version 1.0.5 is optimised for kodi 16 only?

Conclusion: 1 hr discrepancy is better than no epg

Set the time on your box 1hr behind as a temp solution.

on 15.2 kodi on fire tv. couldnt get stalker.npfs working. will try fresh start later with modified 16.2 from epg/ninja. Trying to use built in stalker now. Getting channels from iptv 66, but blank guide. Most recently tried this:

Checked to find the xmltv file in user data of pvr.stalker. Nothing there, but there was one in stalker.npfs. Deleted the whole folder. I had tried stalker.npfs earlier, but its been disabled. I went ahead and uninstalled the whole pvr client. In referenced forum, I also uninstalled epg updater and reinstalled from testing zip file in directory. He said there was problem with instal from repo. So no I get a good xmltv file written in propper directory, but still no guide.
