T8 wont update to the newest firmnware

Hi
I am having an issue with loading new firmware on my T8
I have followed the read me to the tee
I do not unpack the zip
when I go to the ext and it reads the sd card it fails saying
footer is wrong
I have no idea and googled the hell out of it to no avail :(
deep down I want to unpack the 3 files and see if it works but I don't want to brick it either as it is my favourite box :cool:

I did get the firmware loaded on to my T8 I need to understand instructions better that's for sure
I was to unpack the 3 files it was only one file specific to not unpack
definite improvement on the picture quality and I thought it was good before now let the loading the new apps and addons begin
