Locked Mag 254

Hello,
I have a mag 254 that I got from a IPTV supplier. I would like to change suppliers, but I cannot get into the inner portal. Whenever I try the option is not there. So I cannot enter a new portal address.

Is there anyway I can unlock the box or is it forever locked to them.

Ive looked at firmware flashing, but worried I could brick it.

Any help would be great

i am sure you can get into there hitting the setup button.

helo..thanks for the reply. I hold down the gear wheel as it boots, but I just get a settings menu that has information about the ethernet or wifi and reboot system / portal. No advanced settings or anywhere that mentions portals.

i think on right top side 2nd button down is setup.

thats the button I'm holding down. its a gear cog picture with setup written above it. just below the F4 button. I hold it to i see a setup screen appear..which is not the right one.

is that correct?

thats it ,i have not got my 254 in front of me but you should be able to get to server? in here you should see url.

Once it boots up to the inner portal go to "Settings" and select "Interface". This is where you tell it where to go when it loads up, changes weather to C or F, etc. I set my weather to Fahrenheit here and ok to save. Exit back out to "System Settings"

Now Select "Network" to set it up. "Auto (DHCP)" will work for most users. For wireless you need an usb adapter so we won't go into that now.

Exit out twice to "System Settings" menu and now go to Servers.

Click "General" and put in a timeserver. pool.ntp.org works. Use the "KB" button on your remote to bring up the on screen keyboard. This is where we fix your time. Press ok to save and then exit once back to "Servers' menu.

Click "Portals" and enter your server info. There are 2 there.

okay I just tried it again. After holding down the setup button..I see loading on the screen, then it brings up a screen with three choices - current supplier name / Portal 2 / System Settings. I click System settings and this takes me to another screen that has these choices - network / device info /reboot device /network info / reboot portal

Thats all i get..I thank it must have had the menus altered so they cannot be changed.

i have a mag from a client that the bar not loading yellow bar became to load but it stay there.

this is where it goes wrong. I do not have server option once i go into system settings...it just isn't there.

i wonder what s/w version is on box?can you see system info and tell me what version you have?

I have tried rebooting from either the settings pages, the one at startup and also the one once the current portal has loaded, but I can never see what other people get when they hold down the setup key. It looks fairly straight forward to me,...hold the key and enter the menus.

Its very odd indeed...maybe i should ask the supplier. I did sometime back but got no answer.

you only need to press setup button once not hold it down ,sounds like your trying to get into bios.

ya is easy click setup button look for server...click ok then click ok on portals..place your server in.
