I noticed in order to get channels back you will need to erase channel data any help would be appreciated.

This is rather vague, but if you mean to get the pvr working again after the 'maintenance' that had us without service for a week-ish..., then you don't need to erase any data. Instead, you should go to papiao and search your donation and notice the NEW server that has been assigned to you. Do a reset and then simply reflect that change in your pvr. Every time you erase channel data (cache), you lose all the customized settings you have made (hiding channels/not loading epg for those channels/groups). A real PITA, so tread lightly there.

So I configured the Stalker EPG Updater AddOn with all of my personal settings (00:1A:78:xx:xx:xx MAC, Donation #, etc.); then removed the Stalker PVR Client settings.xml (actually, I simply did a "mv(1) ./settings.xml ./SAVED.settings.xml") to allow this new updater gadget to do it's thing and generate one; I cleared all caches; and now when I start KODI, the Stalker PVR Client immediately comes back with:

Stalker Client Authentication failed: Retrying. (it tries twice and gives up).,

Of course I tried to troubleshoot and fix things as follows (in each case, disabling TV; Clearing Caches; Restarting KODI; etc.) -- but none worked:

(Attempt-1) I noticed the UPDATER applies its own (long) HEX strings for device_id, device_id2, signature and serial_number. So, hypothesizing that the authentication server may want my original 13-digit versions (the ones we were told to generated months ago), I tried substituting those back in. Doing this didn't fix anything.

(Attempt-2) Next, I noticed that the UPDATER uses http://portal.iptvrocket.tv/stalker_portal/c/index.html (i.e. it attaches a trailing index.html, which we were told not to do several months ago). So again, hypothesizing/hoping that this may be the issue, I tried substituting in the original value: http://portal.iptvrocket.tv/stalker_portal/c/ (i.e. without the trailing index.html) Doing this didn't fix anything.

(Attempt-3) Next, I increased the timeout value in the General section from 5 (=25 secs) to 15 (=75 secs). Doing this didn't fix anything.

Etc.

I don't understand why revisiting this Auth issue? This was all working fine for months. And I'm pretty good with this stuff. I'm on Fedora Linux, so using vi(1), xmllint(1), diff(1) (etc.) on the settings.xml file, I ensure uniformity; ensure well-formedness; ensure no extra leading/trailing spaces; ensure that all PORTALS are 100% identical; etc.

Geez, seems like you're in a pickle. I think you're over-analyzing it. If you've gotten your new server number from papiao and done the iptv reset there, just change the server number in your pvr settings in kodi. You shouldn't have to keep resetting your mac, once should be good. Then change your setting for the guide to 'local' in the pvr settings and enter the directory where the file is extracted to. If that's where you're unclear, just fill in your own info. It doesn't matter where this is, only that the info is THE SAME in both the pvr and the updater addon.

It has been stated several ways about the Time Zone not mattering in the past, but I still have mine set to eastern (America/Toronto) and haven't changed it. The guide is working for me but was once again 1 hour behind. I selected that option for the offset in the updater and simply extracted the epg2 file and put it in the directory I have the pvr looking for the epg in. Then I disabled TV, cleared the guide data (I also deleted the epg.db) and restarted kodi then enabled live TV and it's golden.

In your pvr settings, change the scope for xmltv to local path and input: /storage/emulated/0/android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/temp/epg_xmltv.xml and then reboot kodi. This assumes you have also updated the stalker epg updater addon and properly configured the iptv server in it (enable scheduler is ticked). Since your pvr is apparently already working, DO NOT tick to Configure PVR Stalker or Simple IPTV. Reboot kodi and done.

Most likely a pull issue on the server side. I see the epg hasn't been updated in 21 hours, so after the next update we should have a fully populated guide showing info for uk channels. Glad you got it working. ;)

Ok, this is what i did to fix KODI STOCK PVR STALKER CLIENT to work with EPG UPDATER VERSION 1.0.16.
I like better how pvr stalker client works because it display the quide info instead of only have the channels with PAPIAO STALKER.

I was having problems with my PVR STALKER CLIENT ON KODI 16.1 RC2. Running my IPTV ROCKET SERVICE. Was ok before the update of EPG UPDATER TO 1.0.16.
After the update i could not load the guide from EPG UPDATER but the channels works. I found after many trial and error settings on the EPG UPDATER and the PVR STALKER CLIENT came up wiht this.

This tutorial is assuming that you have PVR STALKER CLIENT working but cant load the full guide info from EPG UPDATER 1.0.16. I have ROCKET SERVICE and will explain the procedure using the ROCKET SERVICE ON IOS AND ANDROID PLATFORMS.

IOS PLATFORM

1. We gonna need a way to enter SYSTEM FILES on your Idevice, i recommend IFILE. And enter to this files;

VAR/MOBILE/LIBRARY/PREFERENCES/KODI/USERDATA/ADDON_DATA/PVR.STALKER
----- We gonna check if there is any (epg_xmlt.xml) file and delete it
This is where eventualy the EPG UPDATER is gonna save the XMLTV file needed for the channels info. If you dont find any xmltv file dont worry.

2. Lets configure the with the correct Epg Download Path, EPG UPDATER 1.0.16

--- In the configure window of EPG UPDATER you gonna change the default epg download path (special://temp) to;

special://userdata/addon_data/pvr.stalker/ --- exactly as i wrote it---

3. Now we go and configure stock Pvr Stalker Client;

Well updated to the new ninja updater and filled in all the fields, mac, donation.

Worked fine until last night then noticed UK channels disappeared from the guide again.

Running Kodi 16,
Stalker epg updater 1.0.16
Iptv66.tv portal 2
Not ticked configure simple client
Not ticked configure pvr stalker
Ticked enable scheduler
Running stalker client 1.0.3

Time out 120 seconds

Went into live tv. Cleared tv cache then cleared the guide cache.

Is it just not pulling the uk data epg guide?

If the guide is downloading and you are only missing some channels, it is usually a sign that nothing is wrong at your end. It could be the supplier of British channel information was unavailable, so the guide was could not incorporate that information. There is also the chance there was an issue with the ********** server.

You welcome . Im glad that it work for you. There are other ways to configure XMLT paths for THE DIFERENT DEVICES. But I found that with this configuration I can make all my devices works.

I sorted out the issue. I have no idea what the issue was and/or why it stopped working in the first place. I just kept re-configuring, changed the MAC, changed it back. Thankfully, even though it was the 3rd time today, I was also able to do the IPTV Reset again. 1.iptv66 was the portal that worked for me.

its usually better to wait a while and try again instead of messing around with the settings and get even more confused and frustrated.
chances are if it worked last night it will work again.

the portal 2.iptv66 epgupdater writes to the stalker client was down a few mins ago but is back up now.
i get auth fail too trying to use it though, i have no idea if you need to be assigned to it or its under maintenance.

I dont know what it says under portal when you login with your route, but if it says 66.iptv66.tv you should use 1.iptv66 in epgupdater as these 2 are the same server.

i wonder what it says under portal if you need to be assigned to 2.iptv66 to use it..
maybe they have it for redundancy, so in the future when they are doing larger maintenance on server1 they point 66.iptv66.tv to server2 and vice versa.
thought it was only 'nfps' users that got 'new' portals, apparently not. it could also have been there for a while. i can only guess lol.

maybe some kind person with more knowledge about this can enlighten us heh. ;)

International channels have been dropped for the most part, but there are plans to bring them back at some point. As for the US and UK channels, they're there as long as there isn't an issue with the pull or the server.

OK, so it is better then to install the EPG updater, then to have the stalker client with the proper URL for EPG, you are saying the updater will keep the proper URL in the stalker client EPG URL

The URL that is set in the Stalker Client in the XLMTV setting section, that is no longer needed ?? in the remote URL section.

I checked both the Stalker client and the EPG updater and they are both still enabled, I did check the Stalker client config, and the device ID and serial number have changed on there, I'm assuming the EPG updater does that be default, does that mean I need to do an IPTV reset ?? Or am I missing something again, it was working fine yesterday, please advise.

The TV shortcut will not appear if the channels did not load. That is understandable.

Yes, you should do an IPTV Reset if the updater configured your PVR Stalker client and the channels will not load. I would also go to the updater's configuration and turn off the automatic configuration setting to prevent PVR Stalker client from being configured again.

I did read the thread and have it set up exactly as described, but for some reason, when I check in the morning, there is no TV, I have to reboot for it to come back in.

And configuration is turned off, but what is on is, the scheduler, I'm assuming that is OK, the only info in the Updater is the Donation, Mac ID and the the proper portal I am using, nothing else.

Couldn't get epg after the 1.0.16 update.

Went to epg updater config page and only entered two settings.

1. Selected IPTV Portal as 1.iptv66.tv from selection (select the one that corresponds with your service)

2. In the epg download path, typed special://userdata/addon_data/pvr.stalker/

That's it…did not mess with the stalker client configuration at all.

Un-enabled tv…cleared data from tv and guide twice and restarted Kodi.

Guide appears fully.

when Kodi loads it downloads the new EPG data at the same time as the PVR stalker is trying to load the file. The result being that one some channels have data. If I disable live TV and enable it again the TV guide loads fully.

Have edited the settings XML for the EPG updater to say update at 21:00.

is there a way to prevent it from updating the EPG file at Kodi start up and have it just run at the time specified in the XML file?

Can anyone help? I keep getting PVR needs to restart everytime I start Kodi up then I need to press ok about ten times then EPG ninja will update. I then need to go into live tv again to disable then re enable guide for it to play. Any ideas?

I started by deleting KODI in its entirety and reinstalling it. You can re-add your add-ons, back-up etc after you set up the EPG. I did not use EPG ninjas add ons..ONLY PVR STALKER and NOT NFPS.PVR STALKER
Go to NFPS and reset IPTV. Got to Kodi – System- Setting – Addons – My Addons – PVR Clients.
Go to PVR Stalker
General tab
Set Active Portal to 1
Set timeout to 15
Portal 1
MAC: 00:1A:78:XX:XX:XX (put your mac address as assigned here)
IPTV Portal/Server: portal#.iptvprivateserver.tv/stalker_portal/c/index.html (after portal put your portal number in place of the number sign

I am running Kodi 16.1 (under Windows 10). Each time my pc reboots or resets, it seems my portal on papiao changes. Is there some reason this happens? It gets frustrating having to first log into papiao to see which is my active portal then changing it. Especially when I am out of town and my family cannot watch TV until I can log into the pc and changing the settings. Is there a way to fix this? Or am I running the wrong version of something?

Ridgeguy had the right answer(btw thanks:)),, dont use the updater, i had the same issue,,i had to change the log file. but the epg was still incomplete.
disable the updater by going to : my addons >services>stalker EPG Updater, and disable it. then follow what the post before yours says, I just did it and mine works fine, if not go to settings>tv>general, and hit clear data and the channels should load as long as all your other pvr settings(signature, id's, and serial are correct).

PVR Stalker Guide
I started by deleting KODI in its entirety and reinstalling it. You can re-add your add-ons, back-up etc after you set up the EPG. I did not use EPG ninjas add ons..ONLY PVR STALKER and NOT NFPS.PVR STALKER
Go to NFPS and reset IPTV. Got to Kodi – System- Setting – Addons – My Addons – PVR Clients.
Go to PVR Stalker
General tab
Set Active Portal to 1
Set timeout to 15
Portal 1
MAC: 00:1A:78:XX:XX:XX (put your mac address as assigned here)

**Will give error on first try. Don’t panic. It should start to load within a minute. If not release IPTV and change mac and try again**

I run Kodi 15.2 and Stalker 0.8.4 with the EPG Updater on a minix box and I too couldn't get the guide to load.

Had to disable it and download the file direct….it's a ashamed since i quite liked the EPG updater…..so what now?

i had an issue with the updater but you dont need to download the guide, im not sure if its an issue or if its being worked on until its sorted just remove "http://nfps.**********" and replace that link with this link "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/psyc0n/epgninja/master/guide.xml" clear guide data and startup live tv the channels will auto load along with all the colours in the guide grid and so on. the link will auto update as and when the epg.xml is updated by the ninja team

the EPG updater addon isnt necessary anymore because you can use the address hxxps://nfps.********** (replace the "xx" with "tt") in the xmltv field in PVR Stalker or IPTV Stalker to get the guide info

If remote is set to the url, it is most likely using that and not the updater. Enabling the updater may have forced a reloading of guide data and that kicked the remote url into gear. You can reload the guide yourself when it does not load initially.

System > Settings > TV > Guide > Clear data (Yes)

on the stalker client>advanced>token (blank)>serial number (it shows combo of numbers and letters)> device id1 (combo of letters and numbers)>device id2 (diff combo of numbers and letters again) and finally signature that is a combo of letters and numbers.

Hi dara, thank you for all you do. I would like to ask you how would I use the providers guide? Ever since I got my donation last year I've used ******* EPG guide. I do have the built in stalker client on Kodi 16.1 using an invidia shield and iptv66. But ever since ******* left all I get is the channel logos but no info. How would I use the providers epg? I'm sure it's on here somewhere but there is so much old info I wouldn't know where to look. Would you be so kind as to point me in the right direction. Or post the link on how to do it? Or is the providers guide what I already have. Just channel logos but no info? Thank you

Dara, does this mean the auto epg xml update is out of commision? If so what other epg subforum are you referring to?

It may be up, but I don't use the epg updater. If there is no one to support it, there is no support. It may be best to uninstall it, and disable the repo as well. As far as the provider epg, there is a setting in PVR Stalker for that. It may be available or not.

Hi psycon, sorry I'm new to all this. My issue is that my epg is not working. Nothing in the guide appears at all. I'm a little confused. I'm using Kodi 16 on android device. I have the ********** add on enabled (version 1.0.0), I have the Stalker EPG Updater enabled (version 1.0.17) and I have the Stalker Client enabled (version 1.0.8). My IPTV channels are working but I have no guide for any of the channels. Never had issues with the guide before until a couple of months ago.

I would like to install the new repo from the site and install the epg updater service add on from the repo but I have no idea where to download it from. Everything in your links is marked out with **** and I can't reach the site to download the files I need. What's the site? Why is everything coded. Again sorry I'm new to this.

Thanks for answering. I will uninstall the epg ninja updater. So I'm guessing I need to be using the Stalker EPG updater. Currently I'm using Stalker EPG updater version 1.0.17 and it doesn't seem to be working. Gives me a Stalker EPG Updater error and says check log which I have no clue what that means. Where can I download the latest Stalker EPG updater repo or am I using the latest version?
