AVOV TVOnline First Impressions
I received my AVOV TVOnline STB and these are my first impressions, I own a MAG254 and also an AVOV VIXO1.
This is what the packaging box looks like

Inside you'll find:
AVOV STB
Power Supply (same as the one for the VIXO1, 5V)
Remote (looks very similar to the one for the MAG250/254)
Flat HDMI (Nice that they include one with the STB)
Two AAA batteries

Rear connectors for the box, you can use a microSD card for Storage and media playback as well as USB, I tried both FAT32 and NTFS formats and no issues.

after turning on the box for the first time you'll see this screen:

Setting up the box is pretty straight forward, one of the reasons why I picked this box is the built in Wi-Fi, Server settings is where you'll enter your stalker portal info URL, you can have up to ten IPTV servers and connect to the one you choose.

Stalker service upgrading, each box has a MAC address in the same range as the MAG250/254

you also get an internet browser

Here are some shots of the picture quality so you can have an idea of what to expect, if you press the Info button you'll see the streaming speed for that channel, there is also an EPG but it needs to be enabled on the server your connecting to, I'm very happy with the image quality and box so far.

I also tried playing different media files from USB and it played all files perfectly, Including a 10GB MKV file
The built in Wi-Fi and all the extra features that you don't get with MAG make this STB a very solid and affordable choice for IPTV.
Thanks for your posts, I have a question since you own both avovs.
Does this remote control the avov v1 or can you have both in the same room?

I just PM'd a mod on mickyhop forum about the remote issue. They said both should work for VIXO 1 and TVonline as they both are IR...

I have many remotes that are ir, but am asking if they are programmed with the same protocol or not. So if both boxes are sitting beside my tv one remote only controls one of them and not both.
Thanks bro for all info after looking into all this water start dipping from my mouth lol:cool: wish could own this box:cool: I'm lovin it. Kof

Hey, BIO, I just tried it again and both remotes work on both boxes, not sure why it didn't work earlier, I haven't tried having both boxes next to each other to see if it will control one or both?
Thanks speedy, guess I will have to choose which to keep on my livingroom tv. Good thing is I won't need to program my remote to a new code :)

Sirrab , one thing to think about us the mag 254 is recommended for IPTV at this time but it looks like this will more than likely be a good choice as well, I personally think I am going to buy one of these myself instead of the mag 254 then if need be once the free trial ends I will pick up a mag254!

Where can this new avov box be purchased? I looked on eBay and a few other places but could not find any for sale so if someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated! Hope all have a great week!

Does the avov allow catchup and recording like the magbox does ?
I know these features are dependant on the server and this free one does not have them activated yet , but thought it would be good time to ask now people are testing the avov .

Thanks for confirming it has catchup . Does anyone have a screen shot of how it looks ?
This is how it looks on a mag250 .413
We get 14 days catchup .
Oh and thanks to speedymmx , great thread .
Can you add Plex to the box? What about Amazon Instant Video? Does Netflix work in HD (720p)? Thanks...

No plex,no Amazon instant video but Netflix work in hd and you don't have the full Mickey market
Apps store only a small amount of apps available for this device.

I had the opportunity to test the TVonline version 2 today. I was really exited about it but I have to say that I'm disappointed. This device looks very cheap , the remote it's the worst if you move a few feets apart from the unit it doesn't work.
I believe that for the base price $109 US this device should have more quality materials, plastic looks cheap and accessories as well.
One thing that surprised the most is that Neflix isn't working on the Mickyhop platform, I mean c'mon guys a STB that don't run Netflix, it doesn't matter if it's good for IPTV but there's not point on buying one of these and not having the option of using Android features. For IPTV only I'm better off buying the MAG.

I had a mag254 that got zapped during a storm sometime ago. I am going to get another box and was wondering if rocket accepts the avov tv online. If so how do I change my mac address from the mag to the avov?
