MAG 255 do not save the Gatewaya address and therefore no INTERNET!

Hello!

I got a new device and under Device Info I found: Model MAG255.

The Installation worked fine, but over ETHERNET I could no go to the Internet!


Under Network Info:

Current configuration: Static IP

Current Status:
Link Status: UP
MAC address: ...
IP address: 192.168.x.xx
Network mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: n/a
DNS Server: 192.168.x.xxx

From the three yellow symbols in the upper left of the inner Portal only the ETHERNET symbols glows.
Not also the first one, the Global/Internet Symbol.

On my MAG 254 I have had the same proplem and I could solve it mit manually Input of the Gateway address (=DNS Server)

On my MAG255 it will not save it! It tells saved, but do it not!

So I looked into BIOS with MENU+POWER ON and lost at the end also my nice boot picture!

Any help possible?

Either set your gateway ip (since you are using static)- or set it to dhcp and let your router set it.

I have done it.

But also with Current configuration DHCP my Thomson router sent no Gateway! It is n/a

Next solution?

Where can I get a newer firmware to put on my USB stick?
How can I get back my boot picture? Only over an update of the firmware?

Gateway needs to direct to your router or modem that's between you and the internet. Without a gateway it may not connect You're using a version from germany that we don't have here in north america so it's difficult to know that receiver well.

will that says it all about all the things your were talking about stick on germany side not na all boxes have different number then us and gateway would be like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 zero or one is router your maybe a different number

My Network mask was wrong!

Network mask: 255.255.255.255 must be correctly: Network mask: 255.255.255.0

Now I have the globe icon glowing yellow and Internet!

It made also an update to the newest software, but my nice boot picture came not back!

How to solve that?

I lost my pic by resetting mine to help a member and just left mine after. The blue screen while loading doesn't upset me too much :)

It gives me the feeling of a complete function - not more.

The "MAG 255" has - after the automatically Update of Firmware r5 to r10 - a new Name: AuraHD2.

Under Device info:

Like I said before: The differences between the MAG and AuraHD series are very Little.

450 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM, HDMI 1.3:
AURA HD > AURA HD International > MAG 250

650 MHz CPU, 512 MB RAM, HDMI 1.4, 3D:
AURA HD PLUS > AURA HD International SE > MAG 254/255

So no problem to work with them also in the US. MAG 254 and Mag 255 are also for US customers and so my real MAG 254 and my "MAG 255" (AuraHD Plus) works also very fine with the new ROCKET Server 1.iptvprivateserver.tv...
