once again I am asking for assistance.. still struggling with the set up of my mag254... I have it hooked up to a small tube tv... using the rca cable.. and ethernet cable... the only screen i can get to is... a list of different things... TV systems ...set at 720p-50 Graphic Res. set at 1280x720, Boot mode....NAND Device info, Loader info, Image info, Upgrade tools, Def. settings, exit and save, exit and discard... will not let me get to anything else....

I did that when i first got the mag254... i have had so many problems trying to get this thing working... I started out on my samsung 46" input all the info.. then i got a message .. mode not supported.. so i took it out to an old tube tv in garage... put in all info and all i got was a bar going across the screen like it was downloading something.... after about an hour.. i rebooted the mag... then i got a message on older tv.. something about output mismatch... could not change any settings on tv... so here i am... stuck.... very frustrating :(

I had that same problem with different boxes (254 Mag), go to video output and change the RESOLUTION to AUTO (first option from left to right), then plug the tv with the HDMI CABLE Graphic Resolution (1280x720), remember to reboot box every time you change setting.
RCA cables or you can try to use a "monitor" to be able to change the setting. I have tree tvs and 2 monitors, so if you want use a High Resolution TV is just matter of setting the right resolution. good luck
