Mag 254 Will not load unless with HDMI Settings

I have two Mag 254 but one will only load when I set the video to SD mode. If I use any HD mode, it will not load.


Any assistance?

No! Still not working via HDMI. Server works fine load and everything fine, but only when I use the SD video connector to the back of the device. If it connected via HDMI, when its booting, the screen can hardly be recognized, then after the TV says, no input. On the other hand, If I connect to the SD video connection, It will boot perfect when everything is set to 480i

Did that. I have two Mag 254. The other works fine. But when I put the exact settings in the other in this that is having the issue, The HDMI port seems not to work. It only works on NTSC (480i)

Make sure you have the latest firmware.I believe there was a bug with the previous firmware.

You need to go into settings and change from comp. to hdml then should work

Yes! Both boxes are with the latest version ans the configurations are identical. I think that box is defective.

I did that. Different HDMI and different HDMI port on TV; same outcome. I think the box is defective. I think I will have to give up on it.

My conclusion is that the box is defective so I will just use the new box only.

I did a factory default. And that did not work when I applied the HDMI settings.

I also tried it on a different network and a different computer. And the result is the same. The SD will work but the HDMI goes blank after seeing "loading".

I agree! I will try out any new idea given though. Cost me almost US$200 for purchasing, shipping and custom duties, and I had it for less than two weeks, so any new trouble shoot assistance would be welcome

Yes it was set to NAND2.

Have you tried reboot . If tried and that didn't work then do a Mac reset. That will sort out everything. Remember to imp,up mag before doing reset, then plug back in

Having the same problem with 2 @ 254 the funny thing is before loading the new software and even after the new software the 254 worked with my hdmi ..I was setting them up for 2 friends when I got to their place "Bang" the same symptoms as yours. .I'm going to retrieve 1 of the box and switch to my hdmi cable and see what happens..

litrally after 24 hours of playing with the same issue i fixed it by

settings
system setting
video = video-1080p-60 Graphics-same as video

boot into your portal then watch it crash reboot and load portal with 720p
now

on the portal NOT inner portal

settings
video

then put video back the graphics from 720p to same as video
press home twice it will ask you to rest the box DONT DO IT!!!!!
press cancel. You have to go back twice for it to ask you to rest, if you only go back once then reload it seems to in the setting but not actualy change the resin reality.
now go back into
settings
reload portal

thats it you will ither be streaming as god intended or you will be looking at the right resolution but no channel list. I have 2 portals works with one but not the other GOOD LUCK and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
