Hi.
Im really excited about the prospect of IPTV and have done some research about options.
Only problem is you don't get the real life experience feedback from research that you do from a forum, so here I am..
Here goes. Im a consumer looking for a "satellite/cable user experience" without a dish or cable, from IPTV with the following qualities:
1. Clear and attractive user interface, simple to use and reliable.
2. Very reliable streams, quality and quantity.
3. Only need English/USA feeds not that interested in European channels.
4. Looking for full range of channels.
5. Quality service through Broadband. I have 78MB bandwidth so shouldn't be an issue.
6. Would quite like VOD and ability to download streams.
7. Fast, reliable functionality, skip between channels and fast forward etc.
I have an android box M8 running Froyo, but has loads of broken links, rubbish interface and is very unreliable. It maybe down to me not configuring properly, but i dont want to spend too much time tinkering, would rather it worked fully and well out of the box.
Ive thought about getting a dedicated MAG254 with subscription as these may offer a better solution. I suppose it's a combination of how good the box and the subscription is.
In your experience do such boxes offer the kind of service experience and functionality described above?
Or is it just not possible to get the complete "easy" user experience Im after in this way? Presumably there are market leader subscription services a bit like the Coke or Pepsi (other soft drinks are available too!) which offer a quality reliable experience.
I know you can't talk about brands, and promote anything but Im interested in getting the "optimal easy to use / complete out of box solution set up" and looking for your guidance.
Thx. Glen
