So I'm an Android app developer and I have an app for casting videos and somehow IPTV users have become a significant part of my user base. My app was never intended to be an IPTV app but I kind of just stitched it together to do that and because of that it doesn't look that great. Since I'm kind of new to this whole IPTV stuff I have a couple of questions.
Is there an actual spec for the M3U file format? seems like they mostly follow a style but I've seen colors tags, tvg values and all sorts of things that aren't always there. Where can I find out more about those so I can make my parser better?
Logos, where do they come from? I see some files have a tvg-logo but rarely do those addresses work. Aside from that, I've added lists without logos to other apps and they just show a logo, are they just guessing the logo based on the name of the channel? and if that is the case, is there a legal logo pack I can buy (or free one) for commercial reuse?
Thanks.
