IPTV - Mag250

I have a mag250 box installed at my house. I've never paid a monthly fee...how is that possible? I was trying to understand how IPTV works as I got one of these boxes off a trading website here and its been working since. It has an occassional pop up that my subscription will be expiring then the screen goes away after a day. In the portal the URL is using a noip.me domain.

Can someone help me understand how this works as I been reading these forums and it seems that in order to get mag250 to work with south asian channels you need to have a subscription?

Further, the box is locked in settings and password protected so I can't even access it. I tried 0000 ..1111...9999. etc..did not work. Is this possible to duplicate or am I just lucky?

Does your epg show the exact same channels as listed in this thread?

If not, you bought a box with a different service loaded into it.

If you see the exact same channels listed, the person who sold it to you probably has some sort of cloned account loaded to your box, although I'm unsure of any specifics related to such a thing. (and we wouldn't be allowed to discuss it on this site anyway)

Enjoy it till it stops working, I guess.

Then you can either try and figure out how to factory reset it, or toss it and buy another box if you're permanently locked out of the one you currently own.
