Does the AVOV STB's basically emulate MAG?

Am I correct that the AVOV or any other Android based STB is basically emulating a MAG 250/254?

mag is Linux based and uses proprietary middle ware for iptv...avov does the same but is a hybrid so includes both iptv and android. the avov has the proprietary middleware for iptv.

I'm confused lol. So your saying the AVOV units are not basically emulating a Mag 254?

I just want to know because I do not want to get a box that is emulating another no matter how good it's emulating it because my opinion and belief is something that is emulated is never as good as the original unit.

my answer stands, the avov uses exactly the same middleware as mag, hence the first three octets of mac being the same. They pay licensing fees to infomir to use this middleware, don't know how my answer can be any more plain. The avov has the advantage of being a hybrid to also enable the ability to use kodi and android features. Do your research, friend...

fair enough I'm still learning and new to this. I have been reading lots. So I'm guessing this has changed? that post I linked to was a bit older from 2014. was AVOV emulating before, but now has changed? I'm trying to choose between the AVOV VIXO 2 or the MAG 254 I'm not interested in Kodi or any other android apps all I want is a pure IPTV experience. with that said which one would do it better? price doesn't matter just which one of those two would give me the better IPTV experience? I would still buy a VIXO 2 even if I don't need the other features just so I could have the best IPTV experience.
