KODI 15.2 crashed - lost addon shortcuts

Kodi 15.2 on Android Matricon box.
Last night I made a successful backup using the "backup" program with all of the options selected except custom paths.
This morning I was scrolling through the pvr stalker guide and Kodi froze up and crashed. When I restarted Kodi, it gave a message like it was being started for the first time. After it was running, I noticed the addon shortcuts were missing but the apps were still there. And amazingly the pvr stalker settings were all still there.
I ran the backup /restore to restore from the backup made last night. After restore finished, the addon shortcuts were still missing.
I was hoping there would be a way to recover without having to manually adding all of the shortcut and not sure if anything else is missing.
Would anyone know another way to recover?
I was also going to use the restore function to clone to other boxes, but I guess that does not work?

This has happened to me a few times not sure why it happens..i keep a back up of the addons that are not in super repo and only takes a few mins to get it back right again..it only happens when it locks up

I see. When you do the restore, does it bring the addon shortcuts back or do you ever lose them too?

best way to back everything up is to make a copy of your org.xbmc.kodi folder in /Android/data while kodi is not running..

the backup plugin can work, you gotta go into settings to turn on everything you want it to back up or it skips your addons.. i find it flaky sometimes..
