On Kodi, there is a movie reel icon when you click on the video for 'info', click that icon, and click on View Mode, find Stretch 16:9.

Perhaps. I don't know of a global setting for the kodi video player to stretch, but maybe there is one.

Just go down to set as default for all videos

Just select " Default for all files " and it should work from there on out ... except it may potentially mess up some 4:3 ones

there is a global setting in kodi:
go to system/video/playback locate "Display 4:3 videos as" set to Stretch 16:9.
pressing "set as default for all videos" in the video settings popup box should also do it, I dont see any conflicts that could occur.

After changing to 16:9 in the view mode scroll down to the very bottom until you see the Set default for all channels and click on that. Then answer yes and you have all channels set for 16:9 and it will not revert back to normal setting.
