View Full Version : Fuse
Received a Fuse today and gotta say one sweet receiver. Sets up fast and the update came with 15.2 so the past problem with video and wrong size is taken care of.
Initial impression... nice package, comes with the a/v cable, which wasn't included with the TVonline+, and an HDMI cable. Uses the same remote. Different power supply than the TVonline+. On startup, did the automatic download of its firmware. After the initial setup, went right for Kodi... it gives you a choice of TVMC (version 1.0) or Kodi 15.2 . I'm not sure but its probably going to let you have both. Ran my local wizard, and got my addons there, and it looks pretty good, with the NFPS service. Couldn't test the exterior tuner as I don't have one. TVOnline is the same as the TVonline box, but at least this box doesn't default into it.
It does have led color ring that will be on as long as it's plugged it, unfortunately, they picked blue for off, not bright, but blue isn't nighttime friendly.

Just got an email from Avov:
We are waiting for ATSC. We have DVB-S2 at the moment and can send you either or if you wish.

looks like it is a DVB S2 tuner so it will pick up any sat really, linear or circular. Won't find any free content thru Circular thou, you'd have to go with Linear.
Linear sats need different LNBs and usually larger dishes then Circular sats.
Not to be confused with Ku-band and C-band.
C-Band is all linear sats, while KuBand is both Linear and Circular.
AT lygnsat, you can tell which are linear sats by the polarization they use.
Linear would be Horizontal or Vertical while Circular would be Left or Right.
Cband have 4 digits in the TP frequency while KuBand have 5 digits in the TP frequencies (actually they are more digits but they only show 5 at lygnsat and on our receivers show 5 as well).
Motorized dish is best with linear sats as each sat may only have a couple worth while channels (as per preference), so in order to have a selection of some channels, it's nice to have access to all sats on the clarke belt :)
Hope the Fuse has motorized settings :)

For those who have a tuner, does it support mpg4 or the Dish turbo?

DVBs2 is used by both Dish and Direct in up-linking but hasn't reached the consumer level yet, it may never reach it, who knows??

The Fuse has the DiSCqE 1.0 and 1.1 and 1.2 and 1.3 functions
With the 1.2 and 1.3 being the Motor Mode, so yes the FUSE has motor control
There are no Circular sats listed in the FUSE's Satellite List, but you can add sat of your own. Circular sats are all encrypted thou and the FUSE does not do IKS
The FUSE has most all other sats and they are Linear sats, Ku-Band and C-Bnad
The Satalite setup menus are well put together on first look.
I will get it connected to motor a little later and report how that works.
Just looking at the Kodi now and the Kodi installer just started.

I played a bit this morning. Configured Satellite at 91.0 that I have a dish already pointed at and added TP1. It actually scanned it and pulled up the stations and radio. Although they are scrambled, it did show the channel name and what is on at the moment. I think there is a lot of potential there, especially if someone opens this thing up and comes up with an add-on. There is a extra blank in the back for another connector so you never know.
The downside is you have to add the TP's manually but that is pretty simple. There is no routine to scan the TP's for the Satellite you setup.

Interesting I'd like to try so you add the tps. can you can them all at once or do you scan them one at a time and do you think the goo router set up will do the iks with it just a shot in the dark here

i'm having issues trying to scan in the tps
i loaded 12224 v 20000
i saw the signal and q but i have been messing around and i lost that now but when i try to scan it just sits there
how did you do it
thanks

12224 on 110w is a spot beam. The spot beam will mess with you. It will show up in disguise even.
That 20.000 S/R is incorrect
and oh, sorry if this is about 91w,, but exercise is still destine to fail

are you saying it can't scan or you can't scan?
that's a big frigging difference there.
I can scan and so can the FUSE

Depends what you want to use it for. If you want to get FTA then the DVB is what to get but if your into OTA, like me, then the ATSC is what you want. Remember though that the DVB tuner will not get you DN.
ok thanks theone i will order this one ATSC tuner

Both are great. Really depends on your budget.
Check the specs on both. The fuse has more storage (8GB VS THE ONLINE+ 4GB)
Fuse costs 15 or 20 bucks more.
Can't go wrong with either.

i would say unless you have a big dish and a motor don't buy the dvb tuner...........it does not do iks
the fuse does games and i have not tried yet......so if you want to save the money get the tvonline+

i see there is a new version of kodi 16.0 on my avov fuse should i update to that version
i see there is a new version of kodi 16.0 on my avov fuse should i update to that version
Unless you are using a known incompatible add-on, like certain skins, I see no reason not to. If you are using pvr.stalker you will need to change your portal url to the fully resolved version. For example, if you are using 11.iptvrocket.tv, the new url is
http://portal.iptvrocket.tv/stalker_portal/c/index.html
ok thanks dara i will stay 15.2 version

TP1 (12224) on 110 is CONUS & not a spot-beam. It is also using Turbo 8PSK modulation at an SR of 21500 KS/s. As such, the Fuse tuner won't work on this or any TP using Turbo 8PSK.

Its the service, not the box.
We've been having freezing issues as of late.
