I'm not sure if this is the forum to post this situation. If not, sorry and feel free to delete or place it somewhere else.
I am a Kodi user, a recent subscriber to IKS iptv service and I donated to get the epg from Ninja. I use the free FTV guide which is what my family is used to and comfortable in manoeuvering. We looked at other choices (PVR client, iVue Guide) and they weren't what we liked.
I have a few issues with the order in which things are provided by the epg service and I am really having a tough time organizing things and not having them change.
Believe it or not, when we first loaded the FTV guide with the Ninja epg data there where some Adult channels listed right beside the Children's Channels. It was horrible and a bit surprising. I did some research and found that I could configure the channel order and even delete unwanted channels by a context menu. All was good until the guide updated epg data 2 days later. Everything was back to normal, much to my horror.
I spoke with a colleague who is familiar with iptv and he explained that the new data overwrites the old data. Not only that, though. It somehow interacts with the FTV guide and puts the channels in the order which the epg data is provided by the Ninja service. He went on my Kodi TV Box and showed me a file called XML . The file listed all of the channels in computer language along with show information. He showed me the order in which the channels were listed. He pointed out that the Adult channel was listed right beside the Children's channel. There was no grouping or logical order to the file.
Is it possible for the people from Ninja to do a reorder of the way that this file is uploaded? I'm sure that I am not alone. I can't imagine that others don't see the same issue. My colleague explained that I could re order things in the file with an editor. However, once again, it woud mean that I needed to do it every 2 or 3 days. I just don't have the time.
Otherwise, I do find the listings very complete and give everything which I need. I hope that someone can provide me with a solution or join with me in requesting the Ninja folks to make some changes. I do thank them for an excellent contribution to our Kodi setup and wish them well, even though I have issues.
Thanks.
