mag 254 time change problem.

my friends box was locked into chicago time..
I could change the time to pacific but on the home screen the weather says adele, illinois.
and the epg is still on chicago time..
when I try to change the weather city from adelle, illinois.. to los angeles it reverts back and will not allow me
to change it..can't figure it out...
anyone else solve this problem?

trying to help a senior citizen out but I don't have the time to continue to search for this..
I would appreciate any help i can get.

go to inner portal then system then system settings then to advanced end change time zone
