mag254 won't interface with Sony tv

My friend has a mag254 I loaded all the information needed to use with Rocket's service..
It worked like a charm...I left hi fiving myself..
two hours later he tells me he tried to change the time and now has no signal..
I brought it back to my house and it works fine. tried it on two separate tv's without a problem..
I called sony... they updated his smart tv but it still says "device not supported"
as I said it worked before he tried to change the time...can't figure it out...
any ideas..? checked hdmi cables and internet connection no problems.
I even brought an xbmc box over and tried it on his tv and that works fine..
so there is some compatibility issue with the mag and his sony...
any ideas would be appreciated...

unplug mag 254 then crab remote hold menu button still holding plug mag back in to enter bios end set video to auto exit save see if that works
