Mag 254 Bought 'already set up'

Hi guys,

First 'real' post - please don't ridicule!

Whilst in Spain I got talking to a few people who mentioned the Mag254 STB's.
Sounded great, so I saw an add in the paper, took myself to the shop and bought a box which was good to just plug in and away I go.
After doing some reading on this site, I may not be getting the full 'service' offered by other servers.

I've gone into the settings of the box, but I can't find anywhere to look (or add) the servers? Is it possible that the shop has disabled this option with their own bios/software?

I've tried to update the software on the box but I get an error message?

So my question is - would it be best to try reset to factory settings (could this be blocked by shop?) and buy a donation for another server (how much typically is this?)

As I bought the box already to go, it has (I'm guessing) had its MAC address added to a server? As such if I get the correct server url the box should still work, even after the reset?

If you go to main menu you should be able to see the url it's in the portal

That's where my problem lies, I don't see the url in the server menu, am I missing something obvious?

in the main menu go to server then portal and you eill see it there

There is no option to go to Portal in the server menu?
Could this option have been disabled by the store I bought the box from?

I would say to contact the place you got it for the url.
